About this event
Session 2 of an "Understanding Mental Health and Aging" series.
Join us for an engaging workshop on caregiving for yourself or some else, such as a spouse, parent, or child.
In addition, the workshop will discuss how the caregiver can find respite or therapeutic support for themselves in this often all-consuming task.
We will also discuss the differences in supporting those who are homebound compared to those who are in senior care facilities, highlighting unique challenges and resources for each.
This session will provide critical tools and strategies for yourself or for the caregivers you know.
The session will be presented by Dr. Rene Laje and Yasaman Alavi. Dr. Laje, PhD, LCSW-C, is the Director of Clinical Operations in Mental Health Services at the Jewish Social Services Agency (JSSA). Ms. Alavi, LCPC, is Manager of Seniors' Services at the Sante Group Medical Health Clinic (Silver Spring).
The session will take place via Zoom. The Zoom link will be sent to registered participants about 1 week before the event.
